Finally – a heart-warming story about Rockstar Games, GTA VI and the gaming scene in general. Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, showed some serious heart by helping a terminally ill GTA VI fan over the past few weeks, granting one of their last wishes to play the game before its launch date.

After a heavy diagnosis of terminal cancer and being told time was incredibly limited – with only 6 – 12 months left – a close relative, Anthony Armstrong – a developer at Ubisoft, took a shot and reached out to the famously secretive studios via social media, calling his colleagues and friends for support to make the wish happen.
At first, things went “radio silence,” which isn’t a surprise given how tight-lipped Rockstar is about security, especially given recent leaks on GTA VI. But the effort paid off – a few days later, Armstrong posted a positive update, hinting at a major breakthrough. That post has since been deleted (likely due to an NDA), but the key detail is that the CEO of Take-Two Interactive reportedly stepped in and presented some kind of an opportunity.

In an industry where everyone focuses on massive sales and record-breaking hype, this story is a powerful reminder that there are real people behind the games. Hopefully this gesture brought a form of comfort and joy to the fan and their family, turning a difficult situation into a truly cherished memory. It just proves that gaming is all about connection and unforgettable experiences.
